2012 Houston Family Law Trial Institute Distinguished Faculty
With over twenty years experience teaching family law trial advocacy, the Faculty of the Houston Family Law Trial Institute has developed a proven method of instruction for family law attorneys seeking to advance their courtroom skills. Expanding upon the successful NITA model of teaching trial advocacy, the Faculty expands upon this tradition of teaching excellence by incorporating an intensive family law focus. Using the latest technology and emphasizing small group and individualized settings, attendees learn to develop a family law case from start to finish.
In addition to the small group and individualized instruction and expert Faculty, experienced family law litigators from across the country demonstrate valuable litigation techniques attendees can immediately apply. Special presentations on business valuation, evidence, use of psychological tests, and effective trial strategy are also included.
This year the Institute's exceptionally fortunate to have Roger Dodd, a nationally acclaimed expert, instructor and trial lawyer on theory of constructing and conducting effective cross-examination, present for two hours on the first day, PLUS give a closing refresher presentation immediately before he presides as one of the trial judges in one of the final-day trials, which are the culmination of the eight-day Institute. Mr. Dodd will also be present in classrooms during the course of the Institute to give individual instruction and advice to attendees as they conduct examinations of witnesses or practice other trial skills.
